I was prepared for culture in Paris but not Germany. So to say the least I had major culture shock the first day! On top of that I was trying not to fall asleep. I was tired from both lack of sleep and an 8 hour time difference. It was a horrible combination...
But Jenni took me to see what I call the Germany space needle. We went up to the top and had a creepy Slovenian take our picture.
Jenni took me to a bar one night, but it was actually nice cause we could sit outside in there wonderful coaches and enjoy the conversation while we people watched. Jenni also ordered me the best nonalcoholic drink I've ever had!
In Germany they have there weird lots where people can buy little sections and create their own gardens. They come equipped with little huts that make it all look a little elf village.
The weirdest thing was that everything smells the same whether it was the air or the food or whatever. The best I can describe it as is a combo of carnival, beer and cigarettes. Which makes a little sense if you know how Germans are... everyone just laughed when I told them that. Makes sense, crazy Germans.
For anyone who doesn't know my friend Jenni was a foreign exchange student in high school who lived with me! So I stayed with her and her family in Düsseldorf!
Also I made friends with some of Jenni's friends that she works with at AnF! Specifically Liz (I don't think that's how you actually spell it) and Ben!
