Let's be honest, Napoleon was pretty short. So why is it that he needs a massive tomb? I guess it was his style of grandeur; but wasn't that what they tired to break away from after the revolution? Ironic, huh? I still haven't figured out French people to say the least. Even though his tomb is oddly huge I definitely suggest checking it out! It's gorgeous there and the artillery wing is also very interesting; that's where all the funny masks are at.
Sacre Coeur is also beautiful! Not medieval like Notre Dame and it's up on the highest point of Paris. So for once I actually got to see the whole town! We were there during mass so of course we participated. Ashley tired to pretend life she knew the hymns and I completely butchered doing the sign of the cross. I know it but I got nervous when everyone was doing it and touched my shoulders then head....at least next time I'll get it right!
Oh, and there is the Louvre. Maybe more exhausting than Versailles. It's so large and the architects decided to make everyone walk up and down an immense amount of stairs, for no reason it seems. Also the pieces there aren't my favorite. I think of the Louvre as kind of another large fancy building that signifies French grandeur.
I've already written more than I like to.... so in short we also saw the Cluny and the Carnavalet. Both museums, both interesting. The first was medieval pieces the second we focused on mainly the revolution exhibit.
Oh, and I threw in a picture from vintage shopping. Which I suggest should be done in Paris!
Waaaay to look!!! Thanks and I love all the great pics.
